I remember when...

Saturday night used to mean something. Saturday night was a magical unicorn that I wanted to ride. (Ride Sally, Ride!) Saturday night meant everything because it was the culmination of the weeks events bundled with a few drinks and a few laughs which suddenly made the world seem right again. Saturday night meant dressing up real pretty to go out and dance the night away. Now, Saturday night means homework, paper and project managing, and of course studying. Now don't get me wrong. I am not complaining. It's just that I envision my Saturday's a lot different than they play out. My choice Saturday does not include any of the things I did today. So until I may enjoy those fleeting moments of carelessness again, I will long for them. A girl can dream can't she?

I' be gone till November...

Just tell my friends that I'll be gone till November. (That is a song if some of you didn't know.) Anyway, the point of this little tid bit is to inform all of you that yes, school is in FULL EFFECT. I currently have more to do than I have EVER had to do in my entire student career. No really like a lot of papers, when I say a lot I mean 4 plus. Also, a lot of other random busy work because well I have to write a journal just about every time I breathe this semester. They say this is the "make you or break you" time. So just remember right now I am being tortured. So if anyone calls me or looks for me or wants to know my whereabouts. It is probably wisest to call Jimmy and ask him because I don't even think I know where I will be half the time. Also, please do not be offended if you want to invite me to hang out because I probably won't be able to do that. I am SERIOUS! It would be really nice if somone adopted my husband though. Just for a few months then he can come back when I am shiny and new again. Until I arise from the dust... love to all.
Oh and look at Boomer he discovered that the microwave is this magical thing that makes food!

Shenanigans

My very good friends from school and I (minus Chara, she had to work the next day) went to the Padres game. It was my first baseball game here in SD (it only took me about 4 years), needless to say, we had a lot of fun. Especially after a few beers.

You have died of dysentary...

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Check it out. Jimmy found this http://www.virtualapple.org/oregontraildisk.html and promptly sent it my way. Oregon Trail oh, yeah! I used to be the master of this game in 2nd grade. Can't wait to get back in on that trail action.

A mosquito says what?

It says... there is Liz... charge! For many years we have pondered the question as to why I always get bitten by the buzzy little buggers more than anyone else... and happen to be "allergic" too. No, no lymphadema or anything just a big itchy welt. Bigger than usual. So today the question is practically answered thanks to Jimmy on the look out for juicy information such as this... read on... http://www.webmd.com/content/article/90/100719.htm

Respect

You know who I give respect to? Plumbers. They willingly go to depths that no man has ever gone to before and wallow in other people's crap. Literally. So next time you see a plumber. Pat him on the back, or if you feel uncomfortable touching someone exposed to fecal on such a regular basis, give a thumbs up, a nod, or a smile. Tell them thank you for keeping this world free of plumbing disasters. Now I can't wait till tomorrow when I can stop visiting friend's homes for showers etc. So a special thanks to Jen for letting me partake in my shower activities at her house the past few days.

La a la la la

So, I am sitting here. Wasting time. Waiting for the plumber. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Yes. Fun. So in the time that it takes to wait... I wonder how much will it cost? I have also just been informed that reruns of Pee Wees Playhouse are on Cartoon Networks "Adult Swim" at 11 PM. This takes me to a time warp. I used to love that show when I was a kid. Now I bet I watch it and find it somewhat distrubing... or love it. We shall see. Ah, back to await my date with the plumber. La la la la la..

Better late than never

Well, happy belated fourth everyone. I guess I should just say "Happy July!" It has been a while since my last blog so I thought I would share this with you. I was laying out in the perfect July sun working on my tan yesterday when I heard airplanes. So I look up into the sky and lo and behold writting in the sky. Right above our house. This gave me something to smile about!

Jury Duty

So I am sitting here this morning going through the pile of mail that I have neglected since getting back from vacation. As I am sorting I come across an envelope marked... JURY DUTY. I say to myslef, "Crap- I missed it." I forgot that I had called to postpone since I was going on vacation only to come back from vacation to forget I was supposed to go there... YESTERDAY. Now what do I do? Call and say, "Uh, sorry but I forgot?" Is there a fine? Am I in trouble? Should I even call to find out? Is it one of those things that if I never say anything no one will even notice? Or is it worse if I don't call to say I am a dumbass? I don't know what to do.

Arrrgh!

Ahoy Mates. We spent this weekend impersonating pirates. Well, not the entire weekend but we were drunk and thought it was hilarious.

Waiting

I'm waiting for the sun to come out so I can go to the beach. How sad. The first day I can wake up and go and it is cloudy. The sun has been out and shining gorgeously all week long. I hope it makes a break through the clouds for me today!

See you later Wally Gator...

So my cousin Amanda and I went bike riding in Shark Valley and I was so worried about mosquitos biting. So Amanda comes to the rescue with this...
Yep that's right, JUNGLE FORMULA.
Needless to say the mosquitos we not around at all, it was the horse flies that sucked. We soaked ourselves in that stuff!
We soon realized we should not be worried about bugs on our 15 mile ride but these guys instead...
I took that like 5 feet away from them. These are just some little guys anyway.

Here are a few shots of us looking out from the tower over the Everglades.

Sigh of relief

Well, it is official. My friends and I can breathe a sigh of relief we all passed and will live to see all that 3rd semester has to offer. Whoopee. I felt so stressed today after that test. Let me tell all of you who know me well, even when Lizard says she is stressed about a test- she is really not. This usually results in the "Oh you will do fine" answer from all of you. You could have told me that one thousand times over today and I would say, "Shut up already!"- as rude as that is. Yet, I can say that I passed and even if it is not with the "A" I could hope for, I still passed and I have come to realize even if I feel like crap that is still "importante". So be happy for me... I will be home and drunk with one year of Nursing school under my belt in no time.

Also, thanks to all of my really good friends who I went to "brunch" with today. Hash House was the best ever. (Seriously, I have evidence... my food was enough to feel 3-4- no joke! I ate like 3 bites and called it quits! Here is a picture of our fun! Oh and I had my first "drinks" of the summer this semester too! Yay.

Finals

Well, school is almost out for the summer and I could not be any more stressed and more happy at the same time. It is strange. All of my classes are over except one and it is the hardest one and I am so worried about it. We have probably the hardest final I have ever taken coming up and there is so much to remember. So you know what my week and weekend has consisted and will consist of... books, reading, remebering- basically just a bunch of studying! Fun times...

Now available in satellite

Bet you didn't know dogs could get satellite!

Doesn't he look sad.

You are probably sick of me putting dog pictures on my blog. Well, too bad- because right now I have no life. I am busy, busy, busy, school, school, school. One more week of clinical- this makes Lizard "muy alegre". Adios!

Ah, finally I blog again...

Yes, I am finally getting around to making a new post on this so called blog thingy here. Well, spring break was officially over with my return to school yesterday. This makes my poor heart ache. Only 8 weeks until summer is here. So today a new countdown begins! Also, my birthday weekend was fanstastical. Here is a picture- I think it is ugly but at least my cake looks good. I refused to eat the cake, so I ate the cookie that was in Cookie Monster's mouth. Much to my surprise they jipped him, he only had half a cookie in his mouth. It tasted good anyway. Oh and no worries, it was cut in half- not half eaten! I thought the cake was cute. My friends said how could you have a birthday without cake, so they got it for me and it was nice to blow out the old 25! Another wonderful thing happened. I guess I am official in California now because only for the second time in my life have I been summoned for Jury Duty. Lame-o! Naturally I think as I open the envelope... "Hmmm- How can I get out of this?" Then, "Eureka! I am a full time Nursing student- they will let me free!" Yeah, right--- they covered that topic on the form, it basically says "Too bad we don't care what kind of student you are we will postpone your date for you." So I guess I need to take care of that. Stupid Jury Duty. Maybe I should pull a Pauly Shore... if you remember that movie.

Good Morning

Hello and good morning to you. Today is starting off perfect... I sleep in until 8:30, wake up, and Jimmy is making me delicious breakfast. Plus, all of our cars are intact this Sunday morning. I would also like to report that my friend Rachel has THE ABSOLUTE BEST MOJITO RECIPE in the world. We enjoyed them last night... fabuloso! I also tried Absinithe... I really thought it was gross. Jimmy liked it so him and our friend Marshall were drinking it together. It was really cool though. He got it grom France! It taste too much like licorice to me. Blech...

Jimmy's new baby...the 54 Chevy!

This is Jimmy's new project- his 54 Chevy which now gets more attention than me (boo hoo)...

and Boomer is ready to go for a ride.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before he hurt himself. I periodically check on him, you know- peek into the garage everytime the lights flicker. So today "it happened". This is Jimmy's first "accident" involving a grinder, let's hope he doesn't lose anything else during this process.

Of course, this was hilarious to me because it's not too bad but he came in so freaked out that I was thinking he was going to have his finger in his hand. So when I saw he was just missing some flesh- I started to laugh and laugh some more. Needless to say, he did not find this very amusing. So I went and got him some band- aids and he is milking it with this sad little face waving his finger at me.
