CNUBLVIT

Can you believe it? That ladies and gentlemen is the license plate on the first car I buy after I FINALLY graduate. (I want a Range Rover but I might need to start working before I pay up on one.) I keep thinking about it lately... Graduation. I think about it at the end of every semester because as they wind down I start to think "one day I will be at the end of my last semester."
So this means the semester is nearly finished. Three more weeks. Two more terrifying test and it's smooth sailing for a month.

Vegas, here we come!

Procrastination takes effort

Indeed it does. It takes much effort. I happened to run across this web site with "demotivational posters" and came across this one. Trust me it's well suited, I have been doing a lot of this lately!Find your own demotivational poster here: http://www.despair.com/viewall.html
Now that my tests are done (for a few weeks) and I only have two more and one paper due I am taking a night off to drink wine... mmm.... lots of wine. One more class in the AM, then that is two clnicals down and only two classes left to take test in. I can see the end and it is beautiful!

Black Lemurs!

Ah, the interesting little facts that you can learn from watching Animal Planet. You see I put it on for Boomer when we leave the house to keep him company while we are away. So we get home from seeing "The Prestige" last night, very good movie by the way, and it is on. There is a show about animals (of course) and strange things that they do. I am intrigued, so I watch for a few. In the process I learn two things:

1. Honey bees can indeed get drunk from eating the sap of lime trees and if they show up to the hive wasted too often the other worker bees rip off all their legs. That is crazy!

2. Black lemurs get high. Yes, you read it right. If they come across a giant red millipede they pick it up and anatagonize it by biting it's head. This causes the millipede to excrete all kinds of chemicals, including cyanide. The lemur licks the millipede and rubs the secretions all over it's fur because they also happen to be a great insect repellent. It works like morphine and gets them all crazy high and they start drooling and acting strange. This makes the lemurs happy and yes, they are addicted in some form.

I found this to be the highlight of my day. Lemurs do indeed get high! I'm going to Madagascar.

Ha.

At last!

Free at last, free at last! Free from the chains known as clinical. Yes, yesterday was our last day of clinical for the dreaded third semester. Which so far, is living up to the hellacious rumors we all heard before it started. Yet, clinical was pretty awesome and a small part of me will actually miss it. Then again the only part of my brain which has still not been deprived of oxygen tells me that I am crazy. Either way this puts us closer to the end. Now, I am having the debate as to wether or not I should apply for an externship because well... I hear time is limited next semester too. I think there is an evil trick in Nursing school where every semester that passes you hear... "Don't worry, it gets better next semester." Then at the end of the current semester you hear the real deal about how horrible it really is next semester. So although I am quite happy that I am done with 3 grueling semesters of Medical-Surgical Rotation (I am not a huge fan, but I manage)... I get to do Obstetrics and Pediatrics next semester. Geesh... I really do not even know what to think or expect. I guess I will love it or hate. Being that I am not fond of whiny children I have a little seed of fear somewhere deep inside.
